Keith Pounds, Ph.D.

Jury Consultant

Keith Pounds is a jury consultant for TrialGraphix, a litigation consulting firm specializing in jury consulting, graphic design, presentation technologies, and trial preparation solutions. In this capacity, he works with clients to identify and develop comprehensive case themes and presentation strategies. He provides quantitative and qualitative venue analyses through focus groups and mock trials and assists attorneys with witness preparation, voir dire, and jury selection. Dr. Pounds has worked on numerous high-exposure complex cases including antitrust, patent, trade secret, contract, professional malpractice, and securities litigation.  An expert in the area of storytelling and law, his practice area covers a variety of industries in venues across the country.

Prior to joining TrialGraphix, Dr. Pounds spent seven years in the field of academia. He was an assistant professor at Hofstra University, where he taught classes in human communication and theater. He also was an associate director for the Academic Center for Excellence at the University of Tampa. He then worked in a consultative nature to help clients with case strategy, theme development, and delivery in high-stakes matters. Dr. Pounds also gained expertise in construction and development litigation as he developed a system for teaching attorneys how to use story structure and storytelling techniques to enhance their persuasive arsenal.

Dr. Pounds has been honored to present at a variety of CLE workshops, and has been a speaker at Inns of Court and for several professional societies.  His writing has appeared in DRI’s For the Defense as well as in several peer-reviewed academic publications. He is a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants and is on the editorial board of peer-reviewed publications. His current projects are focused on jurors changing attitudes towards the securities industry, best practices in product liability cases, and storytelling and the law.

Dr. Pounds holds a Ph.D. in speech communication from Southern Illinois University, and received his B.S. in English and communication from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX.
